Reflection - Monday, April 19

Today's double period was devoted to tying loose ends on coursework, particularly picture scenes. Some students may also have filmed scenes after school. Submit your reflection here, please.

Today during this double we worked on the picture scenes, again. Me and Matilda went over our lines and saw didfferent parts that we had actually forgot about. This was very very useful. We also sorted out about what we are going to wear and so on.
I checked with Ashlie and Matilda and asked them if they would be ok with staying a bit after school tomorrow and they are so I'll be doing the Queen must die with them then.
I look over the stuuf i have already and its not too bad.
Tomorrow I'll be doing the picture scene and the Queen Must die, which is all for coursework.

Today was a very eventful lesson and i think that A LOT was accomplished. I came to class pretty confident with my lines for megans picture scene and i think that as a final piece it will be strong. I spoke about maybe wanting to use it as course work but i obviously have to choose between this one and mine and Astrids.

Astrid and i have worked really hard on our picture scene and its come a long way but the script is quite weak, but it is still very good. And i am very confident with it. But i will choose the one i feel the strongest with for my course work.

We found great costumes for the picture scenes and also for mine and megs much ado scene. We went over this scene today after school and it is SOOOO much better now than it was the last time we did it. We now have costumes and it feels far more natural. :D I have asked meg to learn the benedick lines and i have learnt beatrice and we will record this tomorrow too so i can choose what to send in.

TOmorrow i am also going to be performing the queen must die with astrid and ashlie and i just have to go over my lines briefly. This also allows me to choose between two queen must dies and one much ado for my course work.

A lot was achieved today and i feel far more relaxed about course work than i did before!!!! :D

  3. Todays lesson was needed. since i am with matilda she had to rehearse her picture scene with Astrid and so i discussed with Mr. MacLachlan props for the scene and what was needed of me.

i was able to sort out costumes for both my repertoire scene and the picture scene. i had chosen the perfect white laced dress to play beatrice, and it looked very similar to what they wore in the film. and Matilda picked out a blue cadet jacket. i believe these will help set the scene. For the picture scene i chose an old granny-like skirt to show she is the mother, and i young blue dress for the daughter as this will contrast their age.

Also i was able to watch our performances from before, and i now realized they needed a lot of work, in my perspective anyway. i believe we could a lot better, so matilda and i stayed after school to rehearse Much ado, and it was very helpful, i am very confident with this piece now, and i am quite looking forward to performing it tomorrow.

Matilda and i also worked on our picture scene in class and it was helpful as we changed bits to improve it. i believe this piece is very productive!!

Good luck with tomorrows performances people!
    Dont stress ;)

  4. Today we had a double period where we worked solely on the essential needs of everyone and every group. We started out the lesson by breaking up into groups of the thing we need to work on the most. I went to work on the picture scene with Blue and Izzy. The first thing we did was read through the script once. Then we started to create a list of items that each of us need to get for props for our filming and performance tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day where we film it in 4th period and during lunch we perform it for the high school.

After we made the list we read through it again but we acted it out also. Once through and then the second time and each time after we would discuss ways to improve it. We made a little changes to the acting but minor changes just to make clear more of the messages. Even though we havent had a chance to really perform it with all the correct props i have faith that it will turn out to be a great performance. Im just hoping that everyone learned their lines because thats one of the most important things.

Then as regards other coursework, tomorrow after school i will be re-recording my monologue in the library so i can use an actual couch to make it as realistic as possible and then i will recording queen must die with astrid and matilda. Overall from today i feel so much more relaxed about everything that is going on with drama. Things are slowly coming to end but to a good end.

I am a little nervous for tomorrow infront of the school but it should go fineee :) everyone stay calmm and dont stress :)

This double lesson was great!! really productive and helpful. Me and bekky had never rehearsed our picture scene before and today we got to run it on our feet with no lines like at least 15 times and it was such good practice. We borrowed a horses' head from Ms.Gili's room and it made an excellent prop and we got more props as it went along like the bag and blankets and mobile phone and it just made it seem so much more realistic and everything.Tomorrow we have to bring in all of the props for sure like real blankets and the phone and everything and we have a gun that izzy kindly provided and let us borrow! Tomorrow bekky cannot stay after school so we have to record it either in lunch or class or both either way it has to be recorded because this coursework has to be sent in very soon! I think the peice has really come a long way from being nothing and changing the whole script so dramatically and removing people from it, and now it seems like we have been practising it for ages which is definetely a good sing, i hope all goes well tomorrow! good luck everyone :D xx

You didnt put up the blog for today so im doing it here! :D

Today in class we worked on filming our picture scenes and i think that we were basicallly all stressed over course work and then preparing for lunchtime and after school. I thought that sam and beckys scene was funny and it was the first time that i saw it and i liked it a lot :)

The diner scene i think i saw at luch and all the props and characters were great!

In class i worked on my picture scene with megand and i am very confident with this and i think i want to use it as my course work! we did it again after school and improved it even more!!!

I did the queen must die again after school but with astrid instead of ema and although we had to rehearse it a couple of times, i am very happy with the final piece.

Mine and astrids picture scene has developed a lot and it is much better than it was before, i think the costumes have helped this a lot too.

Beatrice and Benedick, well they are strong and i am doing the Beatrice tomorrow with ashlie, which i am looking forward to.

Also my monologue is going to be filmed again tomorrow at lunch time and i am praying that it will be much better than before, and im pretty sure that it will be! :D we'll see!

I am dead excited to finish this course work but i know that i wont relax completely until it is over :P

  7. Hi you didnt post yesterdays blog so im gonna do it here like Matilda.

Yesterday during class it was only a single lesson and that time was meant for doing filming the scenes a first time before the second performance at lunch. Our group didnt get to do it during class but we were busy getting all our props ready, like our 'strawberry milkshakes', our costumes, and food and everything. We really only got to see Becky's and Sams of the llamas which i had never scene before but it was different and funny.

Then at lunch we did all the performances. I'm happy with the way The Diner ended up. I was a little nervous at first but we re filmed it after school and i think that it is good now. I'm happy.

Also yesterday after school we re-filmed the Queen Must Die with astrid and i am very happy with how things turned out. We had to do a little practice before the real thing but overall i think thats the one that will be used for my coursework but we shall see.

Today I did my monologue and we used a proper couch and a person in the background which made the scene look really good. I think and I'm hoping that the speaking part was ok. I did change it a little from the first one i did, but everything i added was just extra detail from the original.

I'm glad now because I'm finally at the point where all my course work is done and its nice. Now its just time to focus on The Winslow Boy and the other scenes we still have left to do for our written exam. But i think the worst part is just about over :) thank goodness!!
