  1. The schedule is very packed, but it might just be want we need to get things done in our class. Hopefully we can keep on track.

    " Shelter "
Todays work was fine. It seems that because we studied the scripts before, we managed flowed through smoothly. Shelter has very rapid pace script and we need to work on the delivering of lines. We haven't got the stage directions right yet but with a little bit more time we should manage to get it all done. I think we all know the script well enough now to start developing each of our own characters, and taking them into more detail, like posture and mannerisms maybe even ascents.

  3. In this lesson my group and I practiced our play "Daddy Long Legs". I think we all need to practice some more in order to perfect the play, but all in all I think it's going considerably well considering it was only our first time that we practiced it this year and that we also had one of our group members absent. We all need to study each of our characters more thoroughly so that we can make them seem more realistic. There's a lot of scene change that we need to talk about in order to make it happen swiftly with no mistakes. I think after we discuss these issues as a group we will definitely perfect the play.

  4. Yesterdays Reflection:
I worked on 'all the worlds a stage im going through' with des and megan where we decided to merge Megs and my idea together to form a piece with two characters in jail, one of which is mentally crazy, with a police guard sitting outside the cell. This guard thinks that the crazy girl is pretending to be crazy to get out or something but in the end she kills her friend which means that she will be excecuted. The two friends have been travelling the world and illegally crossed a border and got caught. I think we'll be able to create a good scene but we havent started writing yet and we'll probably change part of the plot.

I worked with Izzy about 'A night on the mountain' which Ema will also be joining when she returns. Ema, apparently, has a good idea for this scene so we will hear her plot out before concluding on doing this one. Basically what Izzy and I discussed was that we are three friends who are crossing the Swiss/German border to escape the war and are being chased/followed by German soldiers. Then one of us suffers an asthma attack and stops to rest and another pushes her to continue which starts an argument, wasting more time. Finally they get over it and decide to take a break and then when they hear the soldiers approaching they hurry away. Again we will probably change a few things when we start to write the script.

    Todays Reflection:
Ema is in my group in this scene as well and she was absent too which was a little inconvenient but Ashlie and i went through our lines together anyway and i think we both feel quite confident with them. Our scene kind of revolves around hideous costumes and we picked out two vile dresses today which was nice to finally do and i think they'll be perfect! Basically when Ema returns, we have to hope that she knows her lines and we'll start rehearsing and blocking and i think we'll end up with a good scene :D As for everything else, im apprehensive to see how everything turns out. Im looking forward to doing the winslow boy but i dont know about all the worlds and the night on a mountain...yet!
    See you all tomorrow!

  5. Sammie' x says :) -

Today my group which consists of Megam, Blue, Dennis and patrick and myself, worked on our short scene "Shelter". We developed it last year, but never too its full potential. I would say our lines are pretty clear but need to be studied more thoroughly so that we can put more actions and emotion into the scence.
Scence directions, exits and positioning still need so be put into place, to help us to remember how everything will go. Im also confused on which way the audience is going to be so we dont face our backs to them, but im sure we will figure it out soon. :) x

  6. Today my group and I rehearsed our scene "Daddy Long Legs". We need to rehearse it again and figure out exactly what we are doing. We have only rehearsed some of the scenes before and so we must figure the rest out on our own. With the change of characters we need to explain to the others what they must do. It went pretty well for our first time doing it as a group but will be easier when Beatrice is playing Freddie

Today we started of with looking over our new 'Tentative Schedule' which is very packed.
I agree with Blue that this might actually help us more to be on track and do what we are actually suppoesed to do and fool around less and waste time, like we used to. I think its and that it will be a challange for all of us to keep it up.

    " Daddy Long-Legs "
Today I went to photocopy the script for everyone, so that everyone now has a script so that they can start re-learning/learning their lines.
We then later went over the hole script, reading it out loud.
In Daddy Long-Legs there's lots of actions to do but I think we will work it out just fine. It all takes place in the same 'room' so it will help us a lot. But we also have to work out the stage directions.
It all went pretty well today and I think when everyone will know their lines and what to do when, we will be able to perfect it in our own way.

  8. Sorry Mr. MacL, I never got a chance to get on the internet the past two nights to do my reflection on January 5th.

We started the class off with discussing and going over our new schedule which is filled with something to do every lesson. Hopefully this will help us realize that we have no time for fooling around and what not and getting things done according to deadlines.

Matilda and I also started to go over our script for "The Queen Must Die." We both quizzed each other on our lines and I think its safe to say that we know 98% of our lines and that we r ready to start focusing more on how to play it out. Ema is in our group as well, however she is absent. We are both hoping that when she returns to class that she will have her lines memorized because that will help make things go quicker. Matilda and I got our costumes already for our scene, which are these horribly hideous dresses that I think will be perfect for our part, again we just need Ema to pick hers out when she returns. Overall I'm pretty excited to do this play because its a really fun one and I think once we start rehearsing it more it will turn out great!
I'm also excited to start working on the Winslow boy because that seems like a really good scene as well and I cant wait to watch the movie to see how it all turns out!!
    See you Monday!

  9. Today me Ashlie and Matilda did our scripts "The Queen Must Die" and everytime we did it, we had more ideas getting for how to play it. We high lighted the words which we will be immitating while playing. And it comes quite funny as the script makes us be ungry and at the same time funny.
Matilda acts Shannon very well, and I really like it how she plays her. Even Lisa, I think we got the right characters for each of us.
Hopefully we will work more on the scene and we will do it amazingly.

Matilda and Ashlie also got their costumes today on, and i got mine on the lunch, so next lesson ill be wearing my own "flag" dress. By wearing ugly costumes it helps you play better, because you can feel the same feeling of wearing ugly, uncomfortable dresses.

    See you Mondayyyy<3

  10. Today my group "shelter" which consists of me, blue, patrick, sam and denis. in m opinion i got a better understanding of our actions today. when we went outside we discussed who would be doing what, how they would be doing, and why. it made it easier to see how the play would go, and it made each others character able to understand. All of us knew our lines pretty well which was very helpful, and we all gave a good input to the rehearsal. now we fill patrick in, and help him understand our ideas. i am looking forward to seeing the out come!! :D
