He sneaks back home, and his father finds out, however Ronnie is innocent and all the evidence is against him. He convinces his dad to fight the case. Things go badly however they eventually hire Sir Robert who is a politician who is against the daughter Catharine’s political views. John, Catharine’s husband to be, annual’s the marriage plan. Desmond the family lawyer proposes to her and fails. Sir Robert manages to save the case and proves Ronnie Innocent. The Family is overjoyed and everybody celebrates.
    2.
    Arthur
You are very old, and proud of your family name. You have arthritis and several other maladies, so you naturally need to move weakly and all that.
    3.
    Catharine
You are a young mid thirties woman. You are a suffragette and are very proud of your opinions. You must walk with purpose and pride.
    4.
    Ronnie
You are a child. At first you are very cold, and don’t talk much, whilst later on you must be loud and bashful.
    5.
    Dickie
You are a young adult, who is very into current trends, you are rebellious and not particularly organized, and you are also moderately supportive of the case at present.
    6.
    Grace
You are also old, and are a house wife. Unlike Arthur you can move perfectly normally, and like Arthur you need to have a typical English aristocratic accent.
    7.
    Violet
You are an obedient maid, who is in her middle age. She does a lot of the tasks and is very loyal to her master and treats everyone with respect.
    8.
    John
You are a slightly shy and reserved man, in the beginning you are compassionate about your love to Catharine, however later on pride takes over and you give up on it.
    9.
    Desmond
You are an middle aged man, who is in love with Catharine, you have many motives behind you, and are very prideful of who you are.
    10.
    Sir Robert
You are an English aristocratic politician; you talk in a proper respectful tone, which in itself demands respect. You walk normally and must dress formally at all times.
    11.
The Climax of the film is probably towards the very end, when Sir Robert is fighting the case to the last, and everyone is unsure about exactly what is going on. It is climatic because you are not 100% sure as to what is going to happen and there is an air of mystery as to what is going to take place in the future.
    12.
You have the father son relationship of Arthur and Ronnie; it is very well portrayed in the film, as it shows they have a mutual trust and love for each other, and that Arthur is willing to go to any measure for his son. They both use good actors for them, Ronnie portraying the Helpless but upbeat boy, and Arthur portraying the father willing to go to any lengths for his son’s welfare.
    13.
Probably I would say Ronnie, as he is a child, and it is difficult to portray a child in a movie, as in most cases you need another child to play them, and the child has to be taught how to act and all that and it can be a very hard experience .

    1. The Winslow boy is about a family of 5 - Arthur, the father; Grace, the mother; Dickie and Ronnie, their sons; Catherine, their daughter. Ronnie has always seemed as the better child. But Dickie has always been the lazy one, who doesn’t try. Ronnie has been wrongfully accused of stealing a postal order from a boy’s locker at his school. He gets expelled and sent home, but tries to hide away from his father Arthur as he is afraid of what he might do. Throughout the story, the family is trying to prove Ronnie’s innocence and by doing this spends a lot of money on lawyers etc. Because of this, they have to fire Violet, their maid who has been with them for a very long time, but nobody has the heart to tell her this. Also Arthur is forced to pull Dickie, Ronnie’s brother, out of Oxford as he doesn’t have enough money to continue paying. Arthur’s daughter Catherine is engaged to a man named John, who is in the army, but John says that if Catherine doesn’t drop the case about Ronnie, he will not marry her. Catherine continues the case as she wants to continue to try and prove her little brother’s innocence. Ronnie’s case goes on for a very long time, but the family refuses to let it go. In the end of the story, Ronnie is proved innocent and the family’s troubles are over.

    2. 1. Arthur – He is the father of the family. He favors Ronnie over Dickie as he is more proud of him and thinks he achieves more. Throughout the story, he does whatever it takes to prove that his son Ronnie is innocent.
    2. Catherine – Catherine is the daughter of Arthur and Grace. She is engaged to a man named John, but when given a choice between John and her little brother’s case – she chooses her little brother. She is not the average girl of the time and has very mixed taste in books, etc.

But, he tries to hide from his father for as long as he can, so that his father doesn’t find out about his expulsion as he is afraid of what he might say.
    4. Dickie – Dickie is Arthur and Grace’s other son. He is constantly nagged by his parents about school and his parents think that Ronnie does better than he does, although Ronnie is younger and therefore his work is much easier. Through his holiday his parents go on about how he needs to study without his gramophone.
    5. Violet – Violet is the Winslow family’s maid. She has been with the family for a very long time and works very hard for them. It shows that the family loves her very much, because when they haven’t got enough money to keep paying her, they still keep her.
    6. Grace – Grace is the mother of the family. While all of the drama is going on, she continues to dress up. She stays positive about the entire thing.
    7. John – John is Catherine’s fiancé. He is in the army and in the beginning of the story, he seems like he loves her very much. But then when his father influences him, he tells Catherine that she has to choose between Ronnie’s case or him, which shows that he does not love her as much as he seemed to.
    8. Desmond – Desmond is the family’s solicitor. He has been in love with Catherine for a very long time, but still congratulates her and John on their engagement.
    9. Sir Robert – Sir Robert is the lawyer that the family hires to take on Ronnie’s case. In the beginning he seems very arrogant and full of himself. But then, he gives up a very big job that could have been an amazing opportunity, just to continue the case.

    6. Grace- Grace is the mother of Catherine! And she is very caring and cares about what is happening with her daughter’s life.
    7. Violet- Violet is the maid of the house, she tends to the door and does all the shopping for them, at one point the father thinks about firing her but doesn’t, she is a great help to the family.
    8. John- John is the boyfriend of Catherine and he meets Arthur in the play and they seem to get on fairly well. He seems like quite a relaxed character
    9. Desmond- Desmond is in love with Catherine but Catherine does not feel the same way and does not love him in that way, he has a smallish part in the play and he is the family’s solicitor.
    10. Sir Robert- Sir Robert is unpredictable. He is a physiological surgeon and takes on the Winslow case because he thinks it is a good challenge and he believes in Ronnie and that he didn’t commit this crime! Him and Catherine also get talking at the end and realize they misjudged each other in the end!

  14. 1) the winslow boy is about the story of a father son trust, where a young boy who attends a very highly regarded school. He accused for theft of a postage stamp and he is expelled from school via letter, because of it. When his father finds out he takes his sons word over the authorities. The story surrounds itself on the issues of accusations and trust. The journey of the trial illustrates the relationships and the importance of justice. Basicly this is a story of love. That a family endures all they have into defending a loved one.

3.Ronnie –The youngest Son who is very honest. He understands the importance of family respect. He somewhat fears the disapproval for his father. He academically does well, and is the “angle” child.

4.Dickie- The eldest son who didn’t go well in school and still has to pay the consequences of his mistakes with shame to the family. He enjoys music and woman. He finds school rather boring and to stressful because of the family pressure.

    6. Grace- Authers wife. She is a very soft spoken woman in comparison to her husband. She worries about the general well-being of her family. She finds the court case to much hassle for the family and would rather they stopped.

    11. I think that the climax of this film is when Catherine comes home late from court and talks to Arthur about the case and how she thinks it is finally coming to an end, even though they're losing. When Arthur is just about to lose hope in everything, Violet comes home with the news that they have won the case.
    12. I think that the movie left out things from the scene that we got, like the correction of the bunny hug. And I think I would have casted someone with a bit of a stronger character for Dickie and I think even for Catherine. I would also have showed how the case in the end actually killed Arthur bacuase the case too up so much, so I would have showed more clearly how Arthur aged.
    13. I would say that Arthur is a very hard role to play because he is a very soft and caring family man. But at the same time he is very strict and harsh. But I would even say that Catherine is a difficult role to play because she is a lady with a strong character and has very strong views.
    14. Dickie and Ronnie: In the start of the scene you soon find out that Dickie is a bit jealous of Ronnie. And this is because Ronnie got in to Osbourne and Dickie did not and this put shame on Dickie. Dickie was very ashemed of this and did not like it very much when his father brought it up.
    15. Catherine and Arthur: Catherine is Arthur's first child and his only daughter. And this puts more pressure on Arthur when he has a 'talk' with John because John has asked to marry Catherine and she wants her fathers approval. Arthur seems to be very interested in how much money John makes a year so that he will be sure that his daughter is in good hands. But really, if you read between the lines you can see that Arthur is happy as long as Catherine is. As long as she loves him and he loves her, Arthur is happy.

    12. There are many differences between the play that we read and the movie. For example, the scene order. In the play, it began with Ronnie coming home, but in the movie it begins with Arthur speaking to John about his engagement with his daughter Catherine. Also, when Arthur speaks to Dickie about his studies, the lines are in a very different order. For example, the talk about the 'bunny-hug' dance was said in a different way to the way it was in the play.

    13. I think that Cahterine would be the most challenging for an actor to play. This is because she is quite a sarcastic woman, which is hard to convey. She is also quite serious in the movie and doesn't express her feelings very much. This gives you less to work with, making it more difficult.

    14. The relationship between John and Catherine is shown through the text in The Winslow Boy. In the beginning, it makes you think that John and Catherine really love each other as he is willing to be with her although she doesn't have a lot of money. But then as Ronnie's case goes further and everyone has heard about it, he lets his father influence her relationship. If he really loved her, he wouldn't have listened to his father and would've stayed by her side. Catherine chose her little brother over her fiancee, which shows her loyalty to her family.

    15. The relationship between the Winslow family and their maid Violet is shown through the text in the Winslow boy. Although the Winslow family is running very low on money, because of the amount they have spent on lawyers etc. for Ronnie's case, they keep her. This is because they all love her so much that none of them have the heart to tell her she's fired. She has been with the family for a very long time and the family obviously grew very close to her.

    1) The Winslow Boys is about a young boy called Ronnie who apparently steals a seven shilling postal order. He is founded guilty immediately to his accusations. His family tries to clean Ronnie’s name. Ronnie is expelled from the naval academy at Osborne. His father and sister desperately try to show that Ronnie is innocent and they will go through great lengths to show this by turning the case into a nationwide phenomenon. The evidence against him seems overwhelming.

    2) 2. Arthur- the father of the young boy Ronnie. Arthur tries to prove that his son is innocent. He does anything to try and get back his sons reputation, by involving the public to the situation.

    3. Catherine- She is the sister of Ronnie. She joins her father in helping to save her brother Ronnie by also going to great lengths to save her brother from being ambushed. She is also in love with a young man named John

    4. Ronnie- is the son of Arthur and brother to Catherine. He is accused of stealing a seven shilling postal order. He is found guilty and is immediately asked to leave his college. His family desperately try to prove he is innocent!

    5. Dickie- he is laid back and doesn’t like Ronnie very much.

    6. Grace- she is very kind and comforting. She has many kids and loves them all equally.

    7. Violet- is the housemaid who is kind and trustworthy

    8. John- He is a cheat who cares about money more than anything else. He was supposed to marry Catherine

    9. Desmond- he is a straight forward man who has been in love with Catherine for a long time.

    10. Sir Robert- he is extremal smart and sharp, and he is a great Lawyer who defends Ronnie

  18. DRAMA TEST Matilda

    1. The Winslow boy is about a family of five who try to prove the innocence of their boy Ronnie. He has just been expelled from Osbourne Naval College for stealing a five pound postal order. When Ronnie returns home two days early he has a letter which he tries to hide from his father. The whole family knows about his return and the reason behind it except for Arthur. They try to hide it for a while before telling him because they are frightened of how he might react. Finally Violet the maid breaks the news to him accidentally. Dickie is the older brother and Catherine is the older sister who has just gotten engaged to John Watherstone. After Ronnie convinces his father that he is innocent, Arthur and the rest of the family do whatever it takes to prove his innocence and hire Sir Robert Morton. They lose a lot of money when trying to win the case and have to fire their maid of 24 years, Violet which nobody can bring themselves to doing. Catherine’s marriage is put at stake and the family loses a lot of money. In the end after a lot of time the case is won and justice is rightfully restored. It is a happy ending and the story shows that if family sticks together, anything can happen.
    2. Arthur is an old man who suffers from arthritis. He loves his family very much but cares very much about what his family looks like to everyone. When he believes that there is injustice, he does absolutely everything in his power to restore his honour, not letting anything at all get in the way, even if it means firing his maid of 24 years.
    3. Catherine is a strong-willed woman who stands up for what she believes in. She doesn’t act the ideal way for a woman and most men would not like to marry her. She puts what is most important first and is very smart and appropriate.
    4. Ronnie is a young and clever boy who is very much respected by his parents. He does well at his college Osbourne and does as he is told. He is honest and innocent and wants to make his parents proud.
    5. Dickie is the oldest son who doesn’t do so well at school because he has a very laid back and active personality. His father doesn’t like this and always compares him to Ronnie which Dickie doesn’t like. He likes to have fun and is lazy when it comes to work.
    6. Grace is the mother who takes care of everyone in the family. She cares very much about her family and when she thinks something bad is going to happen she tries to stop it. She is a calm and caring person who worries when things aren’t in place.
    7. Violet is the maid who comes off as being quite an unhelpful person. She is a bit nervous about doing something wrong and this sometimes gets the best of her. She has been with the Winslow family for over twenty years and although they are her family she has a lot of respect for them and treats them as her superiors.
    8. John is Catherine’s fiancé and he likes to impress people. He wants things to be in place and easy and when things aren’t he can’t handle it. He loves Catherine but is deniably weak.
    9. Desmond is the family solicitor and has been in love with Catherine for years. He is noble yet doesn’t like pretending to be happy for someone when in actual fact he is jealous. He is helpful and a former cricket star.
    10. Sir Robert is a well known, rich man who fancies Catherine. Although his political views are completely opposite. He is very smart and decides for himself if a case will win and if he wants to do it because he has that power.

  19. CONTINUED MATILDA

    11. I think the climax is when Catherine goes to talk to Arthur about the case and that she thinks it is over and that there is nothing they can do. Just when they are about to give up and lose all hope Violet springs the good new upon them that they have won (she read it in the newspaper) and there is a happy resolution!
    12. I had interpreted the set and the house the exact same way except for the garden. I pictured it bigger and with a big gate instead of a small wooden one. I think Dickie, John and Desmond were the characters that best fitted my images of them from the play. Catherine was different from what I had expected. I would have made her a more loving and caring character, like when she is telling Ronnie that she knows he didn’t do it, she should be more caring and not so cold. Grace would be livelier and well I found her acting the worst, especially when she told Arthur to bang his stick, it was very fake. I think Arthur’s arthritis should have been visually shown more clearly in the movie. Ronnie i had expected to be more innocent and sweet but i found it evident that he was acting that way which to me was not his personality. I would have chosen a softer looking boy to play his role. Other than that i thought the film was alright although it did leave some small details out such as the beginning when Violet sees Ronnie and takes his thing upstairs and chats to him. The order of events were different and i think it would be possible to place them in the same order as in the play, at least for the beginning.
    13. I think it would be most difficult to play Arthur because you have to think about so many different things. First there’s your arthritis and then there’s your pride and honour that you must protect. You also have to think of a way to show that you care for your family a lot even though you are in a way damaging them but doing everything you can to restore justice. You would have to show determination and deterioration of your body and love for your family which would be difficult in this situation where he is trying to win a case.
    14. The relationship between Arthur and Catherine is very strong and intimate and you can tell that they trust each other when she goes to talk to Arthur about the case. She is his first child and only daughter and Arthur expresses that if she is happy he is happy when he has the talk with John in the beginning. When we are acting, to show this relationship Arthur should smile at her and put his hand on her shoulder. Perhaps when the women enter after the talk he can wink at her.
    15. The relationship between Dickie and Ronnie is different for both of them. I think Dickie is more of a friend to Ronnie because they aren’t really close in a brotherly way but when Dickie asks him what happened at school and he didn’t answer; well that is just the way friends treat each other. I think that Dickie is a little envious of Ronnie because he got into Osbourne and he didn’t and also because their father respects Ronnie more. This can be shown by Dickie smirking when he finds out that Ronnie got kicked out but then shows that he still cares for him by saying that its ok and telling him a story about him being worse, which shows a form of responsibility. He could here place his hand on Ronnie’s shoulder.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 11. The climax of this film is when Sir Robert Morton goes to the House of Commons and demands that Ronnie should have a case. They object at first, and others have told him he has lost the case, but suddenly he jumps up and demands to be heard. He then points out they are wrong, saying you shouldn’t side with the great against the powerless. Also along the way to build up to the climax everyone looses something, Dickie looses his place at Oxford, Arthur looses his health, Catherine looses her engagement, and Grace becomes more worried about the family.
    12. I had imagined the play to be a lot more upper class., especially their costumes should have been more rich looking. I realized they had left the bunny hug dance at the beginning of Act 1; I would have included it in the film to show that Dickie is still immature, just like Arthur and Grace point him out to be. Also I would have put more focus on the court case itself, and include scenes from it to show the emotion and suspense it would have upon the characters of the Winslow family. Also I believe Arthur should have been portrayed as a more serious man. I had imagined him to be very intimidating and strict, old fashioned. I would have liked to have seen the case affect his health more, and as it was pointed out in the 1948 he ends up in a wheel chair. I would go for bed ridden.
    13. I think Arthur is a hard character to portray because he is very stubborn and strict, but at the same time he is very loving towards his family and is willing to give up everything for them. But this could be interpreted as he gives up everything to clear the Winslow name for himself. He is a difficult character to determine.
    14. Dickie and Ronnie – You know Dickie is very jealous of Ronnie since he got into Osbourne and Dickie didn’t. You realize this because Arthur and Grace bring it up which annoys Dickie a lot. Dickie shows he cares for Ronnie by comforting him when he comes home and tells Catherine he has been expelled. Also he is some what glad since now Ronnie might not have the admiration from his father as he did before. Which means Dickie is not the only failure. To show this he could perhaps hug Ronnie whilst looking at a distant object grinning.
Arthur and Catherine – Arthur and Catherine have a very close relationship in the play; they are fighting the case together. He trusts Catherine a lot, and believes she always makes the right decision, as he ensured John was a good man for her. Their relationship could have been shown more clearly when they are talking about losing the case, before Violet walks in with the news that they have won. Perhaps Arthur could have told Catherine his feelings about the case, and how he feels about the family having to go through and even maybe a small apology for having to give up the money for the marriage also for having the whole family suffers because of it. You never see Arthur really open up as a character.

  21. 11)I think that the climax of this film is when, its near the end of the film and everyone is waiting for the results on the case. There is the conversation between Catherine and Arthur at the house. They are both about to give up on the case and everything they worked for and were persistent on. But then at the last minute Violet comes in the door and gives them the news of how they won the case!!
12)In the story, I pictured somethings to be different than they actually came out to be in the film. The house I pretty much pictured the same overall setting. The garden was a bit different than I imagined. I thought they would focus on it more and that it would have this arched white gate and I pictured a fountain in there, too, I dont know why. It was weird also, the scene where they are making a toast and Violet brings an extra glass, I pictured that scene the exact same way. The characters were a bit different in my head. I thought that in the film the actress for Catherine played the worst character. She seemed so fake and so monotone. I would have portrayed her character differently, like a bit more loving but not too much. I would have stressed more on Dickie and his gramophone. I dont think it even came up more than twice in the film. I also would've added a more clearer ending. I would have actually showed the Winslow family winning the case, by being told by like Sir Robert or someone other than Violet. I think I also would changed the order around to the way it is in our script, I prefer that way better. I wouldve started out the movie with Violet speaking with Ronnie, to make things more clear. Lastly, I would've portrayed more how all of this stress over the case for his son, caused Arthur to get older and older and more crippled and possibly even eventually die.

  22. continuation.....

    13) I think that the hardest character to play would be Arthur. He changes a lot throughout the play. When you play the part of Arthur, you have to act in a sort of dry humor, sincereness, sadness, determination. Portraying a lot of feelings for one character can be tough. You also have to play the part of being in pain with arthritis, which can be difficult if you dont actually have it. You have to be able to show how the pain gets worses, with the more stress you have. An actor would have to portray of being the head of the house, and has to deal with talking to John, to give away his daughter, and talk with the lawyers.
14)There is an obvious relationship between Dickie and Ronnie. In the beginning when Dickie, Arthur, Grace and Catherine are speaking, we see that Dickie feels a bit jealous towards Ronnie. Dickie failed his examinations at Oxford and his parents always manage someway to point that out and Dickie gets offended and mentions how Ronnie doesnt have to do much, and he is adored by them. He feels like he's never good enough compared to Ronnie. Then when Ronnie actually comes home and he and Dickie are talking, you see a sort of sly attitude in the tone of Dickie as he is asking Ronnie questions. However, you do see a side of respect to each other. They are brothers so they will still love each other. We see Dickie grow in his relationship with Ronnie. He tries to comfort him when he finds out he gets kicked out. When we act this out at first Dickie can seem like he doesnt care, but then put his arm on Ronnies shoulder.
15)We also see a relationship between Grace and Catherine. Grace is more of a girly woman. She is more into love and showing the love to others, and being kind. Catherine is not so much like her mother. She gets along with her father much more because she enjoys talking about politics and reading law related books. She does enjoy reading romantic novels but prefers political aspects of things. Despite these differences between her and her mother, they both get a long with each other quite well. They dont completely see eye to eye, like in the way that Catherine never shows when she is in love with someone, like it used to be when Grace was her age. I think to help us when we act out their scenes together we can have them smile at each other a lot to show that they really do care.

    Continuation -

    11. I think the climax of the film is when Catherine starts to talk to aurthur and they think for sure that they have lost the court case and just
as they have given up all hope violet the housemade comes in and tells them that they have won the court case!
    12. Between the scene we had read and the movie i noticed quite a lot of differences. I expected the house to much older looking then it was and less spacious
then it was, it seemed more upscale then i imagined it to be. Also i imagined the characters to be abit different to what they were in looks, but that is
obvious because when you first read it you could imagine anything. I imagined desmond to look abit younger... and i thought catherine would look more uptight, i
imagined her more of the caring type and i thought she should have shown abit more love because she seemed abit moody in the moody and that was different
to how she appearred to be in the scene that we did. And also i thought Ronnie would look different not as tough, although he does have a reputation for being
a bad boy i still imagines him more innocent then what he looked like!
    13. I think that Arthur is the hardest character to play. Not only is he a prominent character and in alot of the scenes but he has alot riding on things.
Firstly there is his bad health problems and he would do anything for his family such a caring guy so youd have to get a really strong good actor to play
    his part!
    14. One relationship we learn about is the relationship between Ronnie and Dickie.. Ronnie has always been abit envious of Dickie because arthur is very
complementary of Dickie because he got in to oxford and everything and he is sort of the "perfect child" in arthurs eyes. They arent very brotherly
or close but they are civil.
    15. Another relationship that we learn about is Arthur and catherine, i chose these two really trust eachother and are quite close. Arthur is sort of reserved and barely
opens up, him and catherine could have talked more about the case and arthurs feelings towards what was going to happen in the case!

    11) The climax of the story is when all the family meets up. When Ronnie is actually fine. And everyone is happy. And when all characters are back to their normal characters. The fact that Ronnie is fine and he has no problems with his father, and everyone is satisfied that is the climax, because all story led to it.

    12) Well I actually did imagine most of the parts the way it is in the movie. But I expected Dickie to be more different. In the class once Mr Maclaclan had played the role of Dickie and I thought it was so good that I could have imagine someone similar in the movie to be and act. In the movie Dickie is playing way too calm, especially when he is with Ronnie.
Also I would imagine Cathrine different from a movie. I think Cathrine should be not as serious as in the movie. Especially when her mother gives advices I would act Catherine more girly rather than a grown, serious woman.
Every other character and acting I really imagined the way it was. (surprisingly)

13)Hard to play Arthur. He is a very hard character and often changes his mood.

    14) I would say the relationship between Dickie and Ronnie. When they talk you can really see and understand the difference between them too. And their relationship. The text that Dickie uses is totally offending Ronnie but however he doesn’t really get offended and the way Ronnie answers back. Their relationships is basic but at the same time the way they talk and the way the use the such words for each other it gives me a better chance to understand.

    15) Also the relationship between Violet and the whole family, especially the children. We know that she does love Winslow’s family, but however the text and the words she uses, tone, it helps me to understand better how she feels about this family and the house. It’s quite interesting to understand that and read the text of hers, of her language in their house. She respects the family. She is sweet to all of them and that we understand of course from a text.

    11. The Climax of the film is when the Winslow’s wins the case in court and Ronnie returns back to school. When everyone thought that they wouldn’t win the case, Sir Robert won it because he is the best detective and lawyer in town. The feelings are very strong and energetic during these moments.

    12. There were many differences when I saw the movie. I realized it and understood it much better when I saw the movie. I thought that the action doesn’t take place at a house but somewhere outside.

    13. I think that the best character I saw is the actor that played Catherine, because she was always into her character and I liked most how she played her role and told her lines. I think she was the best actress of all 10, but maybe I think so because a lot of the play’s lines are hers and she played the most and had most lines.

    14. The relationship between Catherine and John is very strong at the beginning because the movie starts in Winslow’s house and John is coming. They talk about their wedding and both of them really want to marry each other. After a few minutes of the film they kiss and this is the point where we could see most the relationship. However as the movie goes they start breaking their relationship and at the second part of the movie they don’t see each other anymore and it is visible that the relationship between them is over.

    15. We could see the relationship between Sir Robert and Catherine again because the way he looks at her is like he is in love with her. It is becoming bigger and bigger as the play goes but at the end I think that Sir Robert stopped liking Catherine because he had many chances but he missed all of them or he didn’t like Catherine that’s why he didn’t kiss her.

  26. Isabella continued.

    11. The Climax of the film is when Catherine comes home with no hope left, believing it to be a hopeless cause. Arhtur is just about ready to give up as they're so sure they've lost and then the maid Violet comes to tell them that they have won the case.

    12. There was quite a lot of differences between the movie and the script. There was one part in the beginning, a scene between Violet and Ronnie which was not in the film, which I probably would have included. I imaged the characters Dickie and Catherine a little differently, Catherine more so than Dickie. The Catherine in the movie seemed much more serious than I would have imagined her. I imagined her showing a little bit more emotion too.

    13. I think Arthur would probably be the hardest to portray not only because of the emotional changes but the physical changes too. Arhtur is killing himself by putting so much stress on himself and I find that might be quite hard to play. I though the actor in the film actually portrayed Arthur quite well and was what I had imaged the character to be like.

    14. Arhtur and Ronnie - Arthur adores Ronnie which is made clear by his siblings and even Arthur himself when he puts all that stress on himself to help Ronnie. Ronnie seems affraid of his father and wants to make him proud. He was very affraid of what his father would do when he came home two days early.

    15. Ronnie and Dickie - Dickie is obviously jealous of his brother. It is shown when he talks to his father, talking as if Ronnie is the one he really cares for. He somehow manages to bring up that Dickie failed his exams at Oxford and Ronnie actually passed and got into a good school. Their relationship seemed to grow and although he was jealous of his brother, he still cares for him.
