  1. Today we've worked on the picture scenes which we started a few weeks ago. I am working with Patrick and Beatrice and we found a picture that we are working on and we started thinking of the lines of the characters but we had no time to finish it because the bell rang and we had to go.

  2. Me and Megan were working on our picture scene, and we wrote more in the script. I think that today's class was too short unfortunetely to do more than that.
But i think that if me and Meg will continue walking that way we will be done soon.
We both have good ideas about it.

I've got some more idea about the picture and I will share it with Meggy next lesson and if she likes it we will include it. Today I will put of what we have written today class in the blog.

    Thank you.

  3. Today we worked on Picture scenes. Me and Ema recapped what we did last lesson.

We were able to come up with more ideas of where the scene is going. we decided we would include a physical fight between mother and daughter since in the picture their clothes are torn, and i believe it would help with the emotions felt in the scene such as a anger, when a child doesn't obey their parent.

This lesson was a bit short, so we didn't get much done, but next time we will work very hard into finishing the script since we now have very strong inputs as to where the scene is going!

I look forward to acting out the final piece :D

  4. At this lesson we spoke about the importance of reflection on the blog and the fact to from now on they will effect our My School grade.

Which i think is good because it forces us to think about the progress being made in each class instead of backtracking on our ideas. Although we somehow still manage to procrastinate about progress, Which i guess is inevitable but not necessarily unchangeable. :P

Exams are approaching rather quickly and there is a lot to be done, in every subject let alone Drama, I feel like so far there isnt any significant pressure, and im hopping that that will continue, we are gradually working on the journey of coursework and are still behind in terms of Recording the actually scenes, because we all seem to lack in the refining aspect of completing our scenes.

The PIcture scenes that we worked on in class today take a lot of time and seem to create a lot of difficulty in my group. Script writing is hard, because there is a lot to include, it should have a relatively equal amount of lines for each member and the free flow of speech should link smoothly. As well as the story should be interesting.

My group now consists of Izzy, Ashlie and I We are all playing "Men" in the scene and because Ashlie only just joined our group we have had to take the previous script and incorporate a new character. Meaning we have almost started afresh. The Story line has been changed and the tone of the scene has been lifted. I think it will be easier to work with the three of us imputing ideas so that the final expresses reasonable creativity.

Not al ot was done in this lesson, but we managed to establish the story line. All that needs doing is SCRIPT and CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Which is a large part of the process.
I Enjoy working with Izzy and Ashlie because they are open minded and have a genuine interest in the story.I had a feeling that this scene will come together to form a strong piece of course work.

In the beginning of this lesson we discussed these reflections and how they are going to start being graded induvidually which i think is really good considering the fact that it shows our effort. Everyone will start to take them more seriously, hopefully making everyone try harder in class because they will be graded on what they write as well as what we did in class. Anyway i think it will benefit the class :)
For the rest of the lesson we paired up with our picture scene partners, in my case Astrid :) and continued to write our scripts. i think we are working on quite a solid piece and i cant wait to learn the lines so we can start rehearsing it in class and play around with it. This is what we have so far:

(it is in the next comment as i couldnt have that many words in one comment so its after this... )

It is still not finished however but we have ideas for costumes and the set but nothing is decided because right now our aim is to finish writing the scene. i know that this is an important piece of work since it is almost certain that we will use it for coursework so we are trying to make it good but this is only a draft because we have to work with it and see how we can improve the dialoge and plot perhaps. So basically now all we can do it finish it and start performing it and ask for contstructive critisism. But we dont have much left so its just a matter of learning the lines over the long weekend.

    :D

  6. Matilda=Sara (S)
    Astrid=Lily (L)
(Lily enters humming with the washing when Sara comes on screaming and crying)
    L: What's wrong?
S: He did it again! I'm bleeding..
    L: Oh, Sara. Its ok.
S: NO ITS NOT! Why does he always do this? It's not fair. I wish he was dead!
L: Don't say that! That's not true. Take it back.
    S: No
    L: NOW
S: No, I wont. I hate him. Dont you? He does it to you too.
    L: No he doesnt.
S: Yes he does, I've heard him and seen you after.
    L: No it's not true.
S: Then whats that on your face?
    L: Nothing.
S: Yea right (rolls her eyes)
    L: It's nothing, okay?!
S: FINE! (walks away and sits on the grass)

    PAUSE

L: Ok I’m sorry i had a go at you. I didn’t mean to. You know you mean the world to me. I’m sorry.
S: If I mean the world to you, then why is it so hard for you to tell me the truth?
L: Because you're my baby sister and I want to protect you. I don’t want you to hate our father for what he does to me.
    S: and me..
    L: I know...

    PAUSE

    S: Lily?
    L: Yes?
S: Why does he do it?...Doesn’t he love us?
    L: No..he does...
S: So what's the, I mean, wh...why? Why does he hurt us?
L: Well you know, its because we remind him of her, I guess..
    S: Shouldn’t that be a good thing?
L: Well. I guess it should but its just been hard for him lately you know..

    S: No I don’t know!

    (Lily hugs her)

L: Well, its been hard for dad at work and everything. And after mum died its been even harder on him to take care of us and go to work where he has to work even longer hours to be able to support us.

S: but that’s still not a good enough reason.

L: after mum died, and grandma and grandpa stopped talking to us, it wasn’t because they were going away, it was because they blamed mums death on dad and they don’t want to talk to us because we reminded them of her.

S: How could they think that? How could they blame it on dad? That’s not fair. Its not his fault that mum got sick. Lets write to them and tell them that they’re wrong.

L: Sara, it wont help I’m afraid.

S: Yes it will. And then they can come and live with us for a bit so daddy can get better.

L: it wont matter, Sara. They’ve already made up their minds.

S: what so you’re saying that they never want to see us again. That they wont come and visit me on my birthday? That they don’t care about us?

L: No honey, that’s not it. They’re just so upset that they can’t.

S: Don’t they think we’re upset? She was our mum and dads wife and we need them. Lets write to them and try at least. That’s what mum used to say. Never give up!

    L: I know.

    PAUSE

S: so do you have their address?

L: yeah its in mums address book.

    S: so where’s is it?

    L: in the attick.

    S: lets go get it.

  7. Desiree:

Last drama lesson we worked on our picture scene. Since Rebecca joined me and sam, we changed our picture because we didnt really like what we were doing.

We now chose the picture of the two girls standing at the fare smoking- she found out that her ex boyfriend was dating a older lady. The lady worked at the fair at the kissing booth, so they wanted to go there to see her and talk to her.

We havent started our script yet, but will soon. Im happy with our little play because im sure it will turn out to be good.

Today in drama class we worked on our picture scenes, they are really important and we have to work on them hard because it needs to be a solid piece of coursework since we need to submit this one. Before, it was me and des working on the picture of the young girl and boy in love and we were thinking of doing some jewish nazi thing but that didnt quite work out since now we have a new member of our group BEKKY! :P
So since one of the persons parts would probably be negligable if we used that picture we decided to go ahead and choose another one so we saw one on the computer of 3 girls at a rollercoaster and they seemed to be smoking of somewhat so we got intrigues by the picture..
We decided to do it on that it is about three girls, names to still be decided and one of the girls boyfriend is cheating on her so we go to the fair to try and find her and tell her to back off because she works there.. One of us will have to be the girl who is using the boyfriend and one the "current girlfriend" and her best friend, were still kind of deciding because it took alot of work to actually DECIDE on something.. But with the next time we work on it more clarity will begin to show and we will get more lines down.. Next time is truly dedicated to getting the lines down and working on it more and more and getting it not static, but like a real conversation...Its going to be a good piece i think :)

On the 9th we worked on the picture scenes. It was a very useful lesson for me and Matilda because we need to finish the script so we can start learning our lines. I think we are at the point where its finished but if its not long enough we'll just have to add a bit more which is not a problem at all! I really like what me and Matilda have done so far and its looking very good. During this lesson we also tried to time it to see how long it was going to take. And I can only say that it was not to shabby! It looks really good as it is now and Im really happy about what we have done with it so far and its off to a really bright start which is awesome.
Now we just have to copy it out and start learning the lines for next week.
    Thats all :)
