  2. Today in class we had a double period. We started off the first period by discussing what the plans were for the next lessons. Today we were to rehearse all of our repetoire scenes, but since Blue was absent Shelter was unable to rehearse. On Monday, about half of the class will be on a geography trip, which was when we were supposed to record our scenes. But that isn't going to happen because at least one person from each group will be gone, so instead on we will work on our picture scenes.
It was good discussing in the first period about our coursework, because I think it was very unclear for a lot of us, but now we all know what is expected. Even though sometimes talking is boring and we just want to perform, we need to make some time to do it so we know what our tasks are.
In the beginning of the second period, matilda, ema and i rehearsed The Queen must die. It was a pretty good rehearsal, there were maybe like 3 mistakes but we were able to pick them up. Matilda made a comment about it getting a bit boring and I do agree, maybe because we do it a lot, but maybe it could also be that we werent in the mood to perform it I dont know. But after we did it once, Mr. McLachlan came up with the idea, that since its such a good scene, and its written so well, that the other girls who are doing their IGCSE can learn Ema's lines since shes not doing it and use it for coursework if they would like. I think its a very good idea, and its not hard to memorize the lines either. So we started off to try it with Astrid and it went well. Hopefully everyone will learn there lines for everything, and stay on top of what needs to be doneeee :)

  3. Today we've done The Queen Must Die. And I really liked it, because I think it is really well written and it's easy for me Mat and Ashlie to do it.
We went over it twice, and we saw our mistakes at some points but overall we all know our lines, and this helps a lot.
We've done it so many times and I also think as Matilda said that it becomes a bit boring but however since we are doing it so well, it shows and express a lot of fun.
Since our script is soo well done, written and easy and funny to play Mr Machlaclan decided to use that script for the coursework, for the girls that want to do it, saying MY lines.
I think my lines are the easiest to say in this scene but they are also the funniest.
Hopefully we are going to present this scene for some other people, because I think it's a very comic and interesting play.

p.s- Also the last minutes we spent on watching Daddy Long Legs, and I might say that I really liek it.
Mr Machlaclan had mentioned at the end that it is also a bit "cute" it is cute, i mist agree..Because the way the children treat Judy(Astrid) it is really cute.
I hope they will continue that way and ENJOY IT...

  4. The rehearsal of our repertoire scenes didn't go according to plan due to absences. For the first lesson we discussed the schedule of drama lessons. This helped me since i was able to see what had to prepared for certain dates. It made it very clear where we stand, and what is expected from us. It was worth the talk.

In the second lesson, Ashlie's group performed the queen must die. It is very well written and funny, it reminds me of how girls act today, and i think all girls have had a very good input. Then Mr. Maclachlan said all girls taking the IGCSE drama should perform Ema's part. I am looking forward to doing this since i really like the scene, and we have to start learning the lines.

Unfortunately some will be on a Geography trip on monday, so we are unable to record our scenes, so people left behind will do the picture scenes!

    :D

On friday we discussed how much we have to do before the easter holidays really and itis starting to become quite streeful but i think that if everyone helps out and puts in enough effort including the people not taking the igcse, we'll manage. I definitely think that the queen must die should film the performance during lunchtime as not to 'waste' class time considering the fact that there are absences and fieldtrips and other interuptions all the time.
In the second lesson Ashlie Ema and i performed the queeen must die a couple of times and i was trying to do it a different way because i was getting kind of bored of the way i had been playing it which i think was good for the group but we still need to talk more about how we want to do things. When we tried the scene with Astrid it was really fun and we played with it. I think she did a great job! It's really coming along and i cant wait to film it so we can see ourselves on tape! :)

We ended up not doing our repetiore scenes because of absenses etc so we started to talk about coursework and out plays. We sort of planned whats going to happen over the course of our drama lessons. Then in the second lesson the Queen must die group perforemed theres and it was brilliant they really got into their characters and put action into it! And since it was so good mr maclachlan had a good idea to subsitite some of the girls in to see if they could play one of the girls. Astrid tried it and it worked out really good! i think this is going to be a great idea! see yaal' soon x

We didnt do our repetiore scenes because of absences, so we started to talk about coursework and planned whats going to happen over the course of the year.

in the second lesson the other group performed The Queen Must Die. Matilda was getting a bit bored of it, so she played around with it a bit.. i think she did a good job. after, astrid played Emas role, just to see what it will look like, and i think she acted it out really well!! i really enjoyed watching it
