  1. In this lesson we had decided to act out Shelter. It was evident that we hadn't learnt our lines well enough to continue through the first scene, and there was a bit of confusion with the lines. Hopefully we will all have them ready by Friday so we can just run through the scene fully with out any slip ups! this is one of my favorite projects we are doing right now because it gives us a chance to act almost as ourselves since we can relate to the characters.

We then decided to watch THE QUEEN MUST DIE, it was clear that no one was prepared with all their lines in this lesson! so we had decided to drop it and follow up on THE WINSLOW BOY since we were quite behind on it.

We were assigned characters and then went up and acted them out. i portrayed Dickie. i didn't really grasp his character when we had read the scene in previous lessons, but going up on and acting out his character i was able to get a good understanding of his purpose in the scene and his background. i am very happy with my role, to me its a character that i am interested in since this character highlights the expectations everyone has for Ronnie.

I am looking forward to our next lesson where we will perform Shelter! learn your lines people!! :D

  2. In yesterdays class we had a single lesson. First shelter went and tried to act out there repetoire scene, but they were having a bit of trouble with their lines. Once they get all the sorted out i think that it will become a great scene

Then after them, we decided to try and perform The Queen Must Die. We started off but then we were mixing up our lines a bit. We all know them, but we just hadn't loooked at them in a while. Sometimes Ema forgets her line or Matilda and I do and then we try and fill it in with something but then we get messed up. So once we just get our lines down it will be great. This scene is one of my favorite. It's so much fun to act out. I realized that once you put yourself in your parts actual shoes, it makes it so much easier and great for an audience to watch. I'm really excited for when we perform this one.

Well since we didnt know our lines, we decided to stop and start actually performing the Winslow Boy. We actually got to get on our feet and try to play it out. It was fun. I think its a good scene, however its quite long. But we were assigned characters to play for class and I was Grace, the mother. I actually really like playing her out in class. She's a fun one with the way she talks, like with Dear, and stuff like that. But afterwars we took a vote to see who played what and I got Arthur the father, along with Blue. Arthur is the character with the most lines, so it will be hard to memorize them but I think i can do it. He seems like a good character to act out, so we will see.

Can't wait till next lesson :D

Righttt, well today was abit mix match. Basically we were going to to shelter, we did the beggining and everything was alright and then it got too some bits that no one had even studied yet so we decided to drop that and also the queen must die didnt know all of there lines so we decided to drop the repetiore scenes and start our new piece THE WISNLOW BOY. We all just took on roles at random and played along with it and patrick was the narrator and we sort of tried to act it out by reading off the script. I was assigned the part of john the boyfriend, i didnt get to speak much because he comes into the play abit later but he seems like a good character, soon we will figure out who we are playing as our parts and start learning lines :)

  4. Desiree: here we first watched the group act out shelter. they werent very prepared with the lines. i remember last year they did it very well and it was very fluent, so im sure they will soon get back into it.

we then watched the other group act out The Queen Must Die. i really like the play because its really funny, and easy to understand. im really happy that matilda, ema and ashley are doing this because they can do it very well and the characters suit them. they didnt really know their lines either, so we decided to go to the Wisnlow boy.

we all played random roles. patrick was the narrator and we tried to act it out with reading the script. i was assigned a part that came at the very end so i didnt get to speak but it was still nice to see the others act this out. im sure it will come together very well.
