Change of Plans (Don't worry. It's nothing to get upset about!) (...And Thursday's Reflection!)

As we discussed today, our performance of the picture scene depends on the deadline for coursework. It turns out that April 27 is too late, so we will now have to do the Picture scene on Tuesday, April 20.

And yes...Please put your reflections here!

  1. I dont know if this is where the blog goes but ill give it a shot.
Today we had a single lesson and we started off the first 15 minutes but discussing our plans for the year. We talked about when everything was going to be performed and also what we will be accomplishing during the rest of the classes. We will basically be rehearsing everything during each class. The Picture Scene, Night on the Mountain, Hitman and All the Worlds a Stage. Which is great because we should get a lot of work done and as long as every one does their part in learning their lines and whatnot i think we should be good on schedule. We also talked about how we are going to be performing some of the pieces like Winslow Boy and Night on the mountain for the high school. Which is kinda nerve-recking but I think we will do fine. :)
Then after we talked we worked on Winslow Boy. Since we usually always start from the beginning we thought it was a good idea to give the second half of the people more time to work on it so we started off from the middle. It gave them a chance to work on and get an idea on the blocking. But there is also the fact that we all need to remember to keep rehearsing our lines for it because many people had to use scripts and we were supposed to be off book a while ago. But overall i cant wait till this is done because i think its going to be good. :)

  2. Today we had a single lesson. We started the lesson by discussing the plans for the next lessons. It was announced that we would have a lot of rehearsal time. This is really important because people find it very difficult to meet up outside of class, and so when it is announced we are going to perform the piece of work it ends up being very poor because we haven’t done any rehearsals outside of school. Now we will get a lot more done with the upcoming coursework and so the performances will be their upmost best 

We then moved onto the Winslow Boy. We had decided to begin from the middle as it gave people a chance to split up into groups and rehearse with each other. Everyone had agreed that they really enjoyed this piece of work, but to keep this excitement within the performance I think people need to learn their lines a bit more, and we can keep up the energy. This rehearsal gave us a chance to work on actions. As long as we keep up the good work it will be an Amazing Piece! :D

Today we discussed how the rest of the lessons up till the end of april will be rehearsal time which i think is great!!! it really helps us learn, i think! and block our scenes better :D
then we continued onto the winslow boy and i did my bit for the second time and i had forgotten some of my lines... :S but ill re study them for next time. :D
i hope all the coming performances turn out good and then we do them well when we perform them :)
todays lesson felt short but then again long because lines werent learnt by some and like in my case i had forgotten, so it didnt go that smoothly. but it will definitely get better again soon :D
see you all next week!!! have a nice long weekend :D
    BYE :D

  4. Todays lesson was spent at first talking about the plan for the 4th quarter, and what need to be achieved and our deadlines. We spoke about how reviewing what he had done helped put things in perspective in turns of how far alone we are for coursework. And the possibility of re-recording the scene that need to be. We also talked more about the performances that we will do during breaks and pastoral care later on the the quarter.

We then moved on the rehearsal of the Winslow boy, which was rather relaxed and enjoyable. Everyone was willing to take part and although not all the line were learnt the enthusiasm was good, but unfortunately we didn't man age to get to the end of the scene even though we started from the middle of the script.

Todays lesson was spent well, and classes like is are very good in making us all at ease with the approaching Exams, and make drama less of a stressful process.

I enjoyed the class today, and it actually left me wanting to have a whole day of drama. So that we could work further. I am positive about the next few weeks, and the amount of work that needs to be done. Hopefully we will all pull through and produce great pieces to add to each of our coursework.

Cant wait to get to the end of this all and recall on how we could have used our time better, but still be pleased with were we got to. :) Even though thats a little presumptuous, i feel as though drama is not anything to worry about.

Today, we only had a single lesson, but we got quite far in the Winslow Boy. Today was quite a relaxed lesson and instead of it being like 'ugh we have drama' it was more like 'yay drama!' which is good! :)

I didn't have any lines in the section we were doing, so instead I went through my lines from the beginning and end of the play and I was the person who did the whole 'The Winslow Boy TAKE 1 !' thing :)

I'm not worried about myself learning lines, but I am worried about the picture scene, because Patrick just won't learn his.

  6. On friday we only had a single lesson, which was quite good but at the same time not so good, because Drama gives us an opportunity to study our scenes.

This lesson we were doing the 'Winslow Boy' and we were doing the part where Grace plays Desiree, so I was just sitting and watching and at the same time I went over my lines.

The Winslow Boy I must say is a lot improving, and that it great. Hopefully soon everyone will be ready to act it including myself.

I enjoyed the lesson a lot as it was calm and fun. Thank you

Today in drama class we started the lesson of by talking about our plan from now until the end of the year since there really is not a lot of time at all! We mapped out what we were going to do and sir started the class on a positive note. By saying that we were not that bad with our coursework, which is quite a relief! And sir also told us that we were going to get rehersal time at school which is GREAT... mainly because with exams and everyones busy timetables its almost impossible to meet after school, so it will most definetely make all of our peices better!

After that we went straight into the winslow boy. We did not start from the beginning but we took peices that needed more work than others. I think the winslow boy has a lot of potential to be great peice, if we all pull together and learn our lines and get into our characters, i have no doubt it will be amazing!! :)

We started this lesson by discussing what is planned for our 4th quarter, what we will be doing from now till the end since our exams are just around the corner (as teachers like to put it). I'm really not looking forward to performing in front of the school... hopefully we can just perform in front of middle school as performing it every lunch brake will get other students who have to watch it extremely annoyed ....

Im so glad that we are putting more effort to learn out lines because our coursework is extremely important, though i do have doubts in some students for the simple reason as they will defiantly not learn them, but i guess thats up to them and will reflect poorly on their grades.

The Winslow Boys is slowly starting to come along and i think we are all happy with what we have to do and where we have to be placed, so fingers crossed this performance will turn out superb.

As for all the other performances, they are also starting to form into something worth showing which is extremely satisfying and exciting. Besides all the times i let my groups down by not being prepared with my lines i can reassure you everything is up to date and i am looking forward to showing you and the rest of the class (not so much high school) my performance :)

During friday's lesson, we went over the Winslow Boy. We hadn't gone over the Winslow Boy in a while so everyone was a bit rusty on the line's. I mixed my line's up and sometimes blanked and I think this was because I hadn't gone over them in a while and we had never done that part of the scene before so my lines and when to say what was a bit rusty.

Patrick wasn't there so I stepped in for him to read his line's, which was quite funny. I enjoyed friday's lesson a lot. I seems and looks like drama is getting back on track and Im liking it!

  10. Last drama lesson we were rehearsing ''the Winslow boy'' but still some people didn't learn their lines very well. I know my lines pretty well now and I think I would be able to do it better on the rehearsal next time. It was a good lesson and we've learned a lot new things as always but still we have a lot to improve in order to perform it in front of audience in the end of April.

Last drama lesson we discussed how we needed more rehersal time during class as not everyone is able to meet after school because we have a private life too, with activities not only school. im really happy that MR.M understood our issues and decided to give us more rehersal time during class.

We then went on to Winslow Boy and started acting out our play.. its coming along very well and im liking how our drama lessons are becoming more fun :)
