  1. Today Ema and i performed our scene for the picture. i was not happy with performing it in this lesson as i was caught off guard. i think this would have shown. i wanted to perform it at lunch or on Friday, as i just could not focus in this lesson. It would be a very good scene if we took the time to focus on what each character's purpose is in the scene. i feel that every time we go to rehearse or even perform we rush straight through it. i do believe we need more time to achieve the potential of this scene. I would like to re-perform this scene to use as coursework, but in order to do so Ema and i would have to make the effort to meet up and rehearse this properly, as before we had many deadlines, and met up once to develop the scene, but our time was very limited.

i do think this scene has potential. But i'm confused on how to get it to that stage. Every time we do it, it ends up being to short because either one of us has skipped lines which throws the other character off. i think the nervousness doesn't help either! sometimes its so easy to blank when the other character is reciting their lines so fast!

Afterwards we went off into groups and practiced A night on the mountain. Our group which is me denis and rebecca has a very good scene to work with. The characters persona is highlighted throughout, and the plot has been well developed.

I think this is the best piece of devised coursework i have come up with so far. The title was easy to work with, and giving a climax was very interesting. I think once all the people in the group have learnt their lines properly it would be very good to start thinking about actions. i had an idea of sitting around a fire sharing a conversation, we would have to figure out how thats going to work. we will discuss props next time we are together.

I'm looking very forward to performing this scene. Its very straight forward and to the point. :D

  2. On this day we first watched Meg and Ema perform their picture scene. I personally think that theirs is really good. However it is a bit short. The first time they did it, it was a bit more better than it was this time. They both seemed like they had less energy. Maybe that does have to do with the fact that they didnt really want to perform it. But i think that if they are able and still want to work onn it I think that they can make this scene really really good.

worked on our A Night on the Mountain scripts. Its me Bea, Blue and Sam. We worked on adding a bit more because it is really short and we also worked on toning it down a bit with having inappropriate stuff. The thing that we were focusing on as we were adding more, is ways to make it relevant to a mountain of clothes. See ours is a bit diffferent than the others in that we dont actually have out scene based on a mountain. We are kinda doing something out of the box where we are making the mountain a symbol. The mountain in this case is a pile of clothes and we all share the clothes and help each other out and fight over wanting to where the same things. That also has relevance to the four girls life in that they fight of boys, share a place to live and they are just going through life together.

So we just need to bring in a whole pile of like old clothes and we just need to memorize our lines and I think it should turn out pretty goood :)

Today we only had a single lesson so not much happened but in the beginning Ema and Meg performed their picture scene and my personal opinion was that i liked it better the first time they did it a couple of lessons ago. It was much stronger then and had way more energy. Im sure they'll get it back for when they film it though :D
Then we decided to go into our Night on the Mountain groups to continue working on the scenes/scripts since we will be performing them next week. My group, Izzy and Ema, deleted our last script and have a better idea now which we will finsih and rehearse before next lesson. I feel much more confident with it now :)
Astrid and I were supposed to be re doing our picture scene at lunch and i had brought in costumes and stuff but then she went home sick :( so we will hopefully perform it on Friday. Like i said in yesterdays reflection, i think it will be far far better than the last time :D
As for the worlds a stage, well my group has to work on that before next week and i hope it turns out to be strong and funny, but we'll see!!!
I am no longer as nervous about the picture scene or the Night on the mountain scene, which is a load off my shoulders and feels really good!

In today's lesson, we watched Megan and Emilia perform their picture scene, which I think was really good. They both perform it with a lot of energy, and Megan is really good. Then we continued to work on our Night on the Mountain scripts. I like our script, because I think it's fun. We're toning it down a bit though, to make it a little bit more serious and emphasize more on the symbolism of the 'mountain' of clothing. We also spoke about the all the world's just a stage one, we're not far on it at all, because both Rebecca and I have had a lot of absences and haven't been able to work on it.

At the beginning of this lesson ema and megan performed their picture scene i thought it was really good, but i thought it had more energy the last time they did it dont get me wrong it was good, but i felt like there was a missing spark. Probably because this performace was abit offgaurd for them, but they decided to do it in another lunch time so it is fine now! I think it is a very strong peice for the both of them, it is quite realistic, mother daughter battles. Also the bits that i enjoyed the most, where the battles of rage because such strong emotion came out of it.

Soon after we started to work on our night on the mountain scene. I am with bea, blue and aslie in this group. We started to work on the script more and go over everything. We worked on teh script and the chronology of the scene, because we wrote lots of pages and we had to paste them together. We cut down on any innapropriate language that we may have had and also worked on making it better. We wanted to clarify whether my character taylor was actually a lesbain or not, and show who chelsea was more. We also made more of an emphasis on the pile of clothes and how it represented our boyfriends and how we use them and get sick of them. I think it is a very good peice of coursework because over its realisticness :) good job everyone!

In this single lesson megan and ema performed their picture scene. i thought it was really good, but it had more energy last time. thats becuase megan wasnt really happy doing it in this lesson as she preferred doing it at lunch or another day.

After, we practiced "night on the mountain." In my group there is Astrid and Patrick. Astrid was sick, and had our scripts, so patrick and i went over the plot, and planned our scnene out a bit better.

I think its turning out good, as i like the plot and my character, now we just have to learn our lines!!!
